Noted for his selfless social service and humanitarian work at the grassroots level, Paritosh Katare—popularly known among residents as Sintu Katare—has been honoured by the district administration for his outstanding public service.

On March 6, Collector Sandeep G.R. presented him with a certificate of appreciation, acknowledging his tireless efforts in helping people during emergencies and crises.

The honour was originally scheduled to be conferred on Republic Day, but was delayed by nearly two months due to a technical issue related to the name printed on the certificate.

The administration had prepared the certificate in his official name, Paritosh, while he is widely known in the city as Sintu, causing confusion when his name was called on stage.

Sintu Katare has long been regarded as a symbol of compassion in the city, often stepping forward in situations where others hesitate. From performing the last rites of unclaimed bodies to rescuing victims in road accidents and fire incidents, he has consistently placed himself at risk to help others.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, he played a crucial role in assisting migrant workers and distributing food and essential supplies. In one notable instance during the crisis, he helped arrange the marriages of two daughters of an elderly couple who feared they might not live long enough to see the ceremonies completed.

Collector Sandeep G.R. praised Katare’s dedication and also informed him about the Madhya Pradesh Government’s “Rahveer” scheme, which honours citizens who help victims of road accidents.

The troupe began their performance by paying homage to Maa Narmada and highlighting the cultural identity and pride of Madhya Pradesh. Several folk songs were presented, with the popular “Hum Gaadi Se Jehen, Paidal Na Jehen” drawing special applause.

Artists performed in traditional attire with ghungroos tied to their feet, using instruments such as khanjari, sarangi, dholak, lota and khartal to create an authentic folk ambience. Through songs like “Un Veeron Ko Yaad Kare Rahiyo,” they paid tribute to Bundeli heroes.

Leeladhar Raikwar informed that the 400-year-old Dhimrayai folk tradition originated from the Dhimri community and later included Kevat, Manjhi and other communities. Once a major source of public entertainment, the art form has received several recognitions and awards. He also introduced the traditional instruments and explained their cultural significance.

Addressing the gathering, chief guest Sudesh Sharma said India’s true identity lies in its diverse culture, and classical and folk dances give the country a unique place on the global stage. He encouraged students to preserve their heritage, describing artists as true custodians of culture.

Sagar Watch News/
The District President of the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Officers and Employees Association, Sagar unit, Gajendra Bohat, has raised concerns over pay anomalies affecting officers of the Madhya Pradesh Subordinate Accounts Service (MPSAS) cadre under the Finance Department.

Bohat stated that nearly 700 officers are serving in the MPSAS cadre, performing highly responsible and sensitive financial duties at various administrative levels.

Despite their significant role in maintaining financial discipline, revenue recovery, pension fixation, pay determination, and preventing financial irregularities, the officers are not receiving salaries commensurate with their responsibilities and experience.

He pointed out a major pay discrepancy, noting that while promotions to the post of Assistant Director (MP Finance Service) carry a pay scale of ₹15,600–39,100 with a Grade Pay of ₹5,400, officers under the first time-bound pay scale after 10 years are receiving ₹9,300–34,800 with a Grade Pay of ₹4,200. Their initial Grade Pay remains ₹3,600 instead of ₹4,200, unlike equivalent posts in other cadres under Pay Band-2.

The association emphasized that correcting the Grade Pay from ₹3,600 to ₹4,200 would automatically resolve the anomaly and would not impose a significant financial burden on the state government.

Bohat added that MPSAS officers often handle additional responsibilities, including deputation assignments and senior-level duties, further expanding their scope of work.

The association has urged the state government to address the long-pending pay disparity and ensure fair compensation in line with the cadre’s responsibilities and contributions.

Union Agriculture and Rural Development Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that real joy lies not in being a leader but in serving as a sevakar. He explained the three paths to God—Gyan, Bhakti, and Karma—as described in scriptures, and cited Lord Krishna’s teaching that no one can live without performing duties.

The minister attended the Purnahuti session of the seven-day Shri Ram Katha, which concluded with a spiritually charged Purnahuti session at the grand Katha Mandap of Rudraksh Dham in Sagar, Madhya Pradesh

While addressing the thousands of devotees in the Purnahuti session, Minister Shri Singh Remarked That said that the true essence of religion lies in service and love. “Religion is a great yajna that lifts humanity above selfishness and guides it toward service, devotion, and compassion,” he said.

He also described Prembhushan Ji Maharaj’s life as an inspiring example of love, knowledge, and devotion, stating that such discourses guide society toward the right path.

Renowned storyteller Pujya Shri Prembhushan Ji Maharaj emphasized that the Shri Ramcharitmanas contains the complete divine life of Lord Ram and must be read and heard in sequence, not in fragments.

He said that devotion and understanding grow only through continuous and orderly listening, comparing it to education that cannot skip basic classes to reach higher learning directly.

Addressing thousands of devotees from the Vyas Peeth, Maharaj Ji said that the tradition of Akhand Ramayan has always been central to Sanatan culture

He explained that listening to the Lord’s story repeatedly brings new meaning every time, removes human suffering, and gives inner peace. “Every living being has more pain than story, but God’s story removes that pain,” he said, urging people to stay engaged in virtuous deeds and self-reflection rather than worldly worries.

During the concluding sessions, Maharaj Ji narrated episodes from Kishkindha Kand, Sundar Kand, Lanka Kand, and Shri Ram Rajyabhishek. He stressed that devotion begins with accepting God first, followed by understanding Him, and that the guidance of a Sadguru is essential on this path.

He also highlighted the importance of seeing God as a living presence in daily household worship, criticizing symbolic devotion without emotional connection.

The sixth day of the seven-day Shri Ram Katha at Rudraksh Dham, Sagar, resonated with deep spiritual messages as renowned storyteller Pujya Shri Prembhushan Ji Maharaj emphasised that only Sanatan Dharma inspires mankind towards tapa (austere discipline) in the true sense.

Addressing devotees from the grand Katha Mandap, he said happiness lies in tapa, not indulgence, and the human birth is meant for self-realisation and devotion to God.

Explaining episodes of Lord Ram’s forest journey, Maharaj said faith bears fruit only when accompanied by complete surrender. “If there is confusion within, divine vision is impossible.

Like Kevat and Shabari, one must remain steadfast in devotion,” he remarked, adding that material pleasures lose meaning as one advances on the path of bhajan and dharma.

He underlined that true religion is a life of purity, humility and compassion. Quoting Lord Ram, Maharaj said God dislikes deceit, hypocrisy and fault-finding.

He cautioned against harming saints, devotees or any living being, stating that while God does not punish, nature never forgives one’s deeds. “Simplicity itself is supreme devotion,” he said, urging people of influence to lead by example through conduct, behaviour and lifestyle.

The minister said liberation from the ego is possible

Madhya Pradesh Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Prahlad Singh Patel attended the Katha, performed aarti of the Ramayan and addressed the gathering.

He said the experiences gained from satsang become one’s true strength. “Whether through self-study or listening to discourses, satsang helps us rediscover inner peace,” he said, thanking former Home Minister and Khurai MLA Bhupendra Singh for creating Rudraksh Dham as a lasting spiritual centre.

Sharing his experiences as a Narmada Parikrama pilgrim, the minister spoke on different forms of ego—of power, knowledge, devotion and penance—and said liberation from ego is possible through surrender. He announced that a programme in Sagar would soon be organised on his book ‘Parikrama Kripa Saar’, based on his spiritual journeys.

Bhupendra Singh lauds ‘saintly politician’

Former Home Minister Bhupendra Singh described Prahlad Patel as a rare “saintly politician” and highlighted his spiritual discipline and contributions to public life.

He said ‘Parikrama Kripa Saar’ is an important work of spiritual literature that teaches renunciation of “I and mine” for progress on the path of penance and devotion. He expressed confidence that devotees attending the Ram Katha would not return empty-handed from the feet of Lord Ram.

At the grand Rudraksh Dham Katha Mandap in Sagar, Pujya Prembhushan Ji Maharaj highlighted the ideals of duty, obedience and right conduct during the fourth session of the seven-day Shri Ram Katha

While narrating episodes from Lord Ram’s life, he said that children who truly follow and respect their parents are rare, and such parents are truly fortunate. Lord Ram, on hearing about his father’s promise to Queen Kaikeyi, silently accepted exile and left for the forest, setting an unmatched example of obedience.

Karma decides happiness and sorrow

Maharaj Ji stressed that human beings themselves are responsible for their happiness, sorrow and even illness through their actions. Blaming God for suffering is meaningless, as God has neither sorrow nor disease to give.

One’s destiny is shaped only by one’s own deeds, and the results of karma must be faced under all circumstances. He advised people to be especially careful about their actions after marriage, as careless behavior brings long-term consequences.

No one can change another’s destiny

Explaining the philosophy of Sanatan Dharma, Maharaj Ji said that no person can change another’s fate because destiny is formed by one’s own actions. Faith is the foundation of Sanatan Dharma, and righteous deeds are the only path to lasting peace. Learning has its own time in life; repeated mistakes cannot be justified in the name of experience.

Lessons from Kevat, Nishadraj and Shabari

Narrating inspiring episodes, Maharaj Ji said that Kevat got the opportunity to wash Lord Ram’s feet after 17 births and was freed from the cycle of birth and death.

Through the dialogue between Lakshman and Nishadraj Guha—known as Guha Gita—it is explained that blaming others, including Queen Kaikeyi, is useless, as joy and sorrow come from one’s own karma.

These stories prove that God does not discriminate on the basis of caste or birth. Devotion, love and honest use of hard-earned wealth lead to true happiness.

Sanatan Dharma stands for discipline and tradition

Maharaj Ji described India as a land of gods and dharma, where those who follow righteous paths remain happy, while those who choose unrighteous ways face suffering.

He expressed concern over recent attempts to undermine Sanatan traditions and emphasized that culture survives only when religious practices are followed with proper respect and discipline.

Sins cannot be erased by shortcuts

He clearly stated that intentional wrongdoing never leaves a person and its consequences must be faced. If sins could be washed away easily, people would commit them daily and simply bathe in the Ganga. Sanatan scriptures explain every aspect of life, and living with faith in them brings balance and peace.
