On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas, the Ahirwar Mahapanchayat is set to organise a grand vehicle rally and procession on January 31, continuing its annual tradition of community celebrations.

Providing details, Ahirwar Mahapanchayat President Anil Ahirwar said the rally will begin from the statue site of Baba Saheb Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar and pass through major city routes before concluding at Vidhan Chowk, Mallpura. He added that the youth of the community are fully committed to making this year’s programme grand and disciplined.
Rally in-charge Inderlal Mate stated that the entire event will be conducted in the spirit of harmony, discipline and social values inspired by the life and teachings of Sant Guru Ravidas. Event coordinator Munna Thekedar informed that the decision to celebrate Guru Ravidas Jayanti on a large scale was taken in a meeting held under the banner of the Ahirwar Mahapanchayat, with special arrangements to accord due respect to families arriving from rural areas of the district. A dedicated youth team will extend active support and services throughout the programme.
Taking responsibility for the smooth and systematic conduct of the rally, Dharamraj Thekedar said the procession will start from the Ambedkar statue, pass via Radheshyam Bhawan, Railway Overbridge, Bada Bazaar and Gaur Murti Teenbatti, and return to the Ambedkar statue site. Mahapanchayat spokesperson Ramu Thekedar saidt that mahapanchayat will demand from Administration to keep liquor shops closed on the day of Ravidas Jayanti.

He also said the organised Ahirwar community will hold a two-day programme from January 31 to February 1 and urged the youth to play a leading role in ensuring its success.
Dharmendra Ahirwar has been entrusted with the key responsibility of managing the vehicle rally and procession to ensure the event is conducted smoothly and in an orderly manner. The Ahirwar Mahapanchayat reiterated its commitment to uniting the community through such annual programmes, with dedicated participation from senior members and youth alike.
A large number of office-bearers and community leaders, including senior vice-president Dharmendra Chaudhary, treasurer Deepchand, former councillors, social workers and representatives from various wings of the Mahapanchayat, were present during the press interaction.
