Sagar Watch News/ Dr. Harisingh Gour University has recorded a significant academic achievement as a total of 16 students from two departments cleared the UGC-NET examination, bringing pride to the institution.
Seven M.A. History students — Khushboo Jain, Manish Patel, Durgesh Singh, Prithvi Raj, Harsh Kori, Kumari Priyanka and Rakhi Jain — qualified in the prestigious exam. Head of the History Department, Prof. Ashok Ahirwar, termed the success a major milestone for the department.
He congratulated the students along with faculty members and celebrated the achievement by distributing मिठाई (sweets). He said the success reflects the multidimensional talent of the students and their ability to understand historical contexts deeply, adding that it would inspire other learners.
Faculty members including Prof. B.K. Shrivastava, Dr. Sanjay Barolia, Dr. Pankaj Singh and several research scholars and students were present on the occasion.
In another accomplishment, nine students from the Department of English and Other European Languages also cleared the UGC-NET December cycle. The successful candidates are Ankita Jain, Ashish Kumar, Manavi Khare, Vidhi Jain, Satyendra Tiwari, Akanksha Raikwar, Raj Tiwari, Neelambuj Indraguru and Tuhin Subramandi.
The UGC-NET examination, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), determines eligibility for Assistant Professorship and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in universities and colleges across the country.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Y.S. Thakur and faculty members congratulated the students, praising their dedication, disciplined preparation and strong command over their subjects. Teachers highlighted that continuous academic mentoring and a research-oriented environment in the university played a key role in the students’ success.
University officials said the achievement has boosted the institution’s academic reputation and motivated junior students to aim for national-level competitive examinations.
