Convocation Ceremony-  Digital education demands teachers should change their role

The 31st convocation ceremony of Dr Harisingh Gour Central University, Sagar was held at the Golden Jubilee Auditorium of the University. The chief guest at the convocation was Gopal Bhargava, Honorable Cabinet Minister, Public Works Department, Cottage and Rural Industries, MP govt marked his presence through a video message.

While presiding over the ceremony, Chancellor Prof. Balwantrai Shantilal Jani said that all the students who received degrees and medals at the convocation ceremony should engage in the construction of India by prioritising patriotism.

Recalling the life struggles of Dr Gour, he said that Dr Gaur, considering knowledge as the root of human progress and language as a means, started the study-teaching centre of Indian languages in the university established by him. Today, in the new education policy, the language is being talked about even at the primary level.


The special guest of the ceremony, Dr. (Mrs.) Pankaj Mittal, General Secretary of the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi (AIU), while underlining the change in education policy with the new technology, said that the teacher should also change his role Is required.

A teacher will work as an assistant in education. By conducting digital classes, students will study only those courses in which good teachers will teach them. In digital education, students can learn from IIT professors at their convenience, so the teacher has to pay special attention to his teaching role.

University Vice-Chancellor Prof. While presenting the report, Neelima Gupta explained in detail the progress of the university. He said that in the coming days, we will make our identity as the best university and set standards by performing excellently.

Congratulating the students who received medals and degrees, he said that the students should follow the footsteps of Dr Gour and bring laurels to the institute and the country.


Chief Guest Public Works, Cottage and Village Industries Minister Gopal Bhargava said that all of us have spent our student life in Dr. Gaur University. That's why he has a soulful attachment to the university.

In the ceremony, the convocation procession with the university flag arrived at the Golden Jubilee Auditorium. University Chancellor Prof. Balwant Shantilal Jani, Vice Chancellor Prof. Neelima Gupta, the chief guest and honorable members of the University Executive Council and Academic Council participated in the procession. 

Registrar Santosh Sohgaura was the flag bearer in the procession. 54 students got medals, UG, PG and PhD students of 11 schools got degrees.
