R
ecently, the Yogi Adityanath government has ordered a full-scale audit of teacher qualifications in private schools that charge high fees. And honestly, this move was long overdue.

Because for years, private schools across India have been selling premium education like a luxury product — with glossy buildings, fancy brochures, “international” names — while quietly running classrooms on the backs of under-qualified, under-paid teachers. Parents pay  ₹1–3 lakh per year, but many teachers don’t even earn ₹10,000–₹15,000/month.

This is the real scandal no one talks about.
---
Why This Crackdown Was Needed — The Rot Inside the System

 1. High Fees, Low-Quality Teaching

Many schools charge fees comparable to top institutions, but their teachers:

  • Don’t meet qualification norms
  •  They are hired cheaply to increase profit margins
  •  Lack of training, language proficiency, and pedagogical skills
  •  Are overworked and underpaid

Result?
Parents pay for excellence. Children receive mediocrity.

---

2. Hidden Economy: The “Profit First, Learning Later” Model

Let’s not pretend — some private schools operate like businesses:

  •  70–80% of revenue should legally go to teacher salaries.
  •  In reality? Often **less than 40%** is spent on teaching staff.
  • The rest goes into management pockets, unnecessary infrastructure, or expansion.

This audit threatens that entire business model — which is EXACTLY why it should be done.

---

3. Underqualified Teachers Destroying Futures

In many schools, teachers are recruited on:

  •  Lowest salary expectations
  • Personal recommendations

“Manageability” (i.e., someone who won’t ask questions)

Not competence.
Not merit.
NOT qualification.

And these are the people teaching the next generation?

---

4. No Accountability, No Transparency

Parents ask:
“Why are we paying ₹2 lakh per year?”

Schools reply:
“Air-conditioned classrooms, sir.”
“Smart boards, ma’am.”

Nobody asks:
➡️ Who is teaching the child?
➡️ Are they even trained?
➡️ Are they paid fairly?
➡️ Why is the quality not improving?*

Yogi’s audit forces schools to answer those uncomfortable questions.

---

Why This Move Is Commendable?  And Why It Should Go NATIONAL?

Because quality education is NOT a business product, it is a fundamental right.

India cannot talk about skill development, global competitiveness, or Viksit Bharat while:

  •  Teachers are hired like cheap labour
  •  Schools run unchecked
  •  Parents are financially exploited
  •  Children receive compromised learning

nationwide policy  must follow UP’s model:

Every teacher’s degree, B.Ed certificate, and experience record must be verified annually.

Schools must disclose the exact percentage of revenue spent on teachers.

 Fee Regulation & Justification

If fees rise, schools must prove WHY.
“Smart board” cannot be a reason anymore.

Underpaying teachers should attract penalties.
Teaching is not charity — it is NATION-BUILDING.

---

This Audit Is Not Anti-School. It Is Pro-Education.
The schools that run ethically have NOTHING to fear.
The ones that exploit teachers and fool parents will panic — as they should.

Because this step sends a clear message:

“In Uttar Pradesh, education is not for sale.

And this message must echo across India.

Enough of:

  •  Taking parents for granted
  • Selling dreams at premium prices
  •  Running schools like profit centres
  •  Ignoring teacher welfare
  •  Compromising the future of millions of children

  • It’s time for accountability.
  • It’s time for transparency.
  • It’s time for India to fix its education system from the roots.
