It is worth noting that two-lane paved shoulder was constructed by National Highway Department of Public Works Department connecting Sanchi Bhopal via Sagar Vidisha to National Highway No. 86 Sagar Bhopal.

Road construction was almost complete, but in the new financial year due to global disease corona, NH could not start toll tax which has been started by the Highways Authority of India from 30th September.

According to official information, the proposal for construction of Fourlane Road was sent to the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) in 2017 by the Government of Madhya Pradesh.

In which this road was proposed to be constructed as an Economic Corridor, from Bhopal to Kanpur connecting Sagar and Chhatarpur to Kanpur. But due to a slow pace, the work has not been progressed yet.

Due to the completion of road construction till Sagar Bhopal, NHAI was authorized for toll tax in view of maintaining toll duty uniformity across the country.

From the second day of the inauguration, the toll tax was started by the company related to the consumer at Johoria Sheikh toll plaza. It is to be known that the Begumganj, Raisen, Bhopal route via Sagar to Rahatgarh had started a decade and a half ago with the formation of BJP government in the state. On which three toll taxes were made by MP RDC.

But after a few years of road construction, after the bridge between Gairatganj-Raisen was collapsed, traffic on this road was drastically reduced. Meanwhile, through Sagar to Rahatgarh, a new road was made for Bhopal via Vidisha, which was converted into NH NH6 and NH 146. Which was to become a four-lane.

The government has now started the toll tax plaza on this two-way street. The tariff is determined by the Sagar unit of NH. The consumer will have to pay Rs 70 as the toll rate single for the journey.

If the driver comes back from the same route, he will have to pay Rs 105 along with the toll return journey. But the concerned agency has not made available to the consumer, which the consumer had to bear by paying 140 rupees on both sides.

Due to non-commencement of online service at the hastily started toll plaza, neither fastag nor electronic gate is available to the Consumers.

Long queues of vehicles can be seen at the toll plaza. At the same time, a driver is taking 15 to 20 minutes because the number of employees at the toll plaza is not that much.

When SK Sharma, Project Officer of NHAI Sagar Unit discussed in this regard, he said that the return toll rate has been made operational. If the consumer is not given the benefit by the employee, then he will be talked to. Fastag facility will be started in the coming time.
