SagarWatch@ Thirty meters space has been reserved for the smart road as per the master plan by Sagar Smart City Limited (SSCL) at Sagar Nagar, the divisional headquarters of Bundelkhand. Under this, a 21 m wide road is being constructed from Tilli Y-junction to the Civil line Square.

In view of its expansion, the landlords of the Civil Line area had also lodged a protest in front of Urban Administration Minister Bhupendra Singh and MLA Shailendra Jain. After this, with the effort of the MLA, it was solved. An area of 30 meters has been secured in view of the masterplan. It will have a 21-meter road.

According to official sources, the pipeline already installed under the Rajghat project is becoming a hindrance in road construction. At present, Its shifting is not feasibale. It could have taken more than a year to move the pipeline to another location, with an additional cost of about 18 crores and about 9 crores in a 30-meter wide road.

It is known that five smart roads are to be constructed by SSCL at a cost of about 83 crores. Under this, construction work of 21-meter wide smart road from Tilli Y-junction to Civil line Square has been started in the first phase.

In Master Plan 2031, a 30-meter wide road has been proposed. For which space has been reserved but construction is being done in 21 meters. A greenery pathway and track will be built in the remaining 9 meters.

According to the Detail Project Report (DPR), both sides are measured from the middle of the road, but by SSCL and the contractor, this measurement was done from the pipeline, so that the residents on one side came under the purview of the encroachment of the house.

Smart city executive director and corporation commissioner RP Ahirwar said that 21 meters wide road was also proposed in DPR. However, In the DPR survey, this road was estimated to have less traffic in terms of a width of 30 meters.
