Sagar Watch News/ Highlighting the growing ecological and tourism significance of the Veerangana Durgavati Tiger Reserve, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said that this Reserve is being prepared to become the third habitat for cheetahs in the state. He noted that the reserve’s landscape closely resembles the grasslands of South Africa, making it highly suitable for cheetah reintroduction.
CM later undertook a safari visit and reaffirmed the state’s commitment to wildlife conservation and biodiversity expansion.
During his visit, the Chief Minister enjoyed a nearly 10-kilometre safari across the reserve, observing its rich natural landscape and wildlife habitat. In a symbolic conservation gesture, he released turtles into the Bamner River, restoring them to their natural ecosystem.
Dr. Yadav emphasized that the reserve holds immense potential for eco-tourism and could emerge as a major attraction for nature enthusiasts. He also underlined the government’s focus on strengthening wildlife protection measures and preserving biodiversity.
