Addressing the concluding ceremony of the religious gathering at Balaji Temple on Tuesday, Pt. Indresh Upadhyay said that “Sagar is not just a district, it is a holy dham. Our saints have described it as a mini Vrindavan where Thakurji resides in several divine forms.”

His devotional bhajans lifted the atmosphere, drawing enthusiastic responses from the audience. A large community feast was organised, where long queues of devotees gathered to receive prasadi.

Delivering the final day’s discourse from 11 am, Pt. Upadhyay explained the significance of Bihar Panchami, recalling how Haridas Ji Maharaj revealed Banke Bihari in Vrindavan on this auspicious day, which is also celebrated as Vivah Panchami, marking the divine wedding of Sita and Ram.

Continuing the Bhagwat narrative, he described how King Kansa summoned Lord Krishna to Mathura under the pretext of honouring him, after hearing about Krishna’s heroic acts—purifying the Yamuna, subduing Kaliya Naag, defeating several demons and protecting Vrindavan by lifting Govardhan. Upon learning this, the people of Braj pleaded with Krishna not to leave for Mathura.

Krishna’s Arrival in Mathura and Kansa’s Defeat

Pt. Upadhyay narrated that although Krishna initially hesitated out of love for the Brajwasis, Narad Ji appeared in his dream, reminding him of the divine tasks ahead—Kansa’s defeat, 16,000 marriages, and other destined leelas including the Mahabharata.

Krishna eventually travelled to Mathura, where he overcame the royal elephant, defeated the wrestlers and finally killed Kansa, restoring the throne to his grandfather and freeing Devaki-Vasudev from captivity.

To avoid emotional turmoil from separation, Krishna then began his education in Madhya Pradesh, where his first meeting with Sudama took place.

Message on the Importance of Satsang

Emphasising the spiritual lesson, Pt. Upadhyay said that satsang is essential for living a meaningful life. He narrated how the Yadavas ignored Krishna’s repeated advice to remain in satsang, assuming their familial ties with him would protect them.

Their arrogance led to the tragic episode where a cursed iron fragment ultimately caused the destruction of the Yadava clan.

He further described Balarama’s departure to the Ksheer Sagar and Krishna’s return to his divine abode. The session concluded with stories of Arjun’s Gandiva and King Parikshit, followed by the final aarti.

The gathering ended with blessings and spiritual fervour, marking a graceful conclusion to the multi-day discourse.
