University Grants Commission Chairman Prof. Jagdish Kumar announced the development of a portal for the purpose of establishing a Central Zone Central Research Infrastructure Centre. He said that for the researchers of four states - Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand - all the universities will provide details of their basic facilities and complete information about contact persons and contact details on a single portal. Universities of all four states will be able to benefit through this medium.

He expressed these views during his address in the one-day workshop organized by University Grants Commission and Vikram University Ujjain on the implementation of NEP 2020. 

The workshop was inaugurated by Honorable Governor of Madhya Pradesh Mangubhai Patel. In which about 400 Vice Chancellors and NEP coordinators from Central Zone (Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand) participated.

In this workshop organized in a total of ten sessions, topics like multidisciplinary and holistic education, digital empowerment and online education, skill development and employment, research, innovation including Indian knowledge system and Indian languages, internationalization of education were brainstormed and keeping these in view, NEP 2020 was prepared. Emphasis was laid on implementation.

In the fourth session of the workshop, Vice Chancellor of Dr. Harisingh Gour University, Prof. Neelima Gupta made a proposal underlining the lack of basic facilities and equipment for research in all the universities. In which each university was suggested to share the facilities available with each other, after accepting which the UGC Chairman announced the launch of the new portal.

Sagar Watch/ After the UGC issued a letter regarding the investigation into the appointment of  Registrar in-charge of Dr  Harisingh Gour University, the demand to form a committee and start the investigation soon has intensified.

The complainant Dr. Manish Bohare approached the Vice Chancellor of the University regarding the letter issued by the UGC in response to his reminder.

According to Manish Bohre in the letter, UGC Under Secretary Dr. Anju Mohan Malhotra has said that the University is directed to investigate the matter and take appropriate action.

In this matter, Dr. Bohare expressed doubt that he feared that this letter could be prevented from being brought to the notice of the Vice Chancellor. That is why he has given a copy of the letter sent to him by UGC along with a memorandum in the Vice-Chancellor's office .

Sagar Watch/ University Grant Commission has recently replied to a reminder letter recieved from a complainant regarding Dr Hari Singh Gour Central University of Madhya Pradesh.  

Though this letter UGC informed the complanaint Manish Bohre that the complaint letter sent by him about the so called illegal appointment of acting registrar of  Dr Hari Singh Gour Central University of Madhya Pradesh has been taken into congnizence and has  forwarded to concerned university to take due action.

It is noteworthy that Complainant-Manish Bohre-in his letter,which he sent to University Grant Commission, raises questions about the selection procedure of the acting registrar of university and demand that until the allegations related his selection procedure  sorted out no recruitment process should be initiated under his tenure.
