Sagar Watch News/ A district-level lecture programme under the “Gramodaya to Abhyudaya Madhya Pradesh” campaign, run by the Madhya Pradesh Jan Abhiyan Parishad, was organised on Wednesday at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Government Arts and Commerce College auditorium on the occasion of Swami Vivekananda Jayanti.
The campaign aims to promote self-reliance, social harmony, environmental protection, de-addiction, cow conservation, education with values, and awareness of government welfare schemes in rural areas to ensure holistic development from villages upward.
The programme was inaugurated with the lighting of lamps and floral tributes to the statues of Bharat Mata and Swami Vivekananda.
MLA Shailendra Jain, the chief guest, recalled inspiring episodes from Swami Vivekananda’s life and stressed the need for character building and self-reliance among youth for nation-building.
He praised the campaign, noting that villages have ample resources but lack awareness about schemes.
Dr Mahendra Sharma of Dr Harisingh Gour University described Swami Vivekananda as a source of energy and discipline for youth, while college principal Prof Saroj Gupta underlined the importance of such awareness programmes in educational institutions
