Sagar Watch News / The 69th National School Badminton Championship (Under-14 Boys and Girls) will commence in Sagar from December 17, with teams from various states across the country already arriving in the city. All necessary arrangements for the smooth conduct of the prestigious national-level event have been completed.

Extensive Preparations in Place
Joint Director of Public Education, Sagar Division, Shri Shatrunjay Pratap Singh, informed that comprehensive preparations have been ensured for the championship.
More than a dozen committees have been established, comprising officers, principals, teachers, and sports instructors, with clear divisions of responsibilities. Special arrangements, including warm water, mattresses, and quilts, are being made keeping winter conditions in mind.
Health, Safety and Security Measures
As per the directions of Collector Shri Sandeep G.R., the Education Department has ensured robust health and safety arrangements:
Medical teams, ambulances, doctors, paramedical staff, and medicines will be available at all sports venues.
Regular inspection of all accommodation facilities by health department teams.
Five beds each are reserved at Bundelkhand Medical College and District Hospital for emergencies.
Anti-mosquito spraying, provision of warm water, bedding, and winter essentials at all accommodation sites.
Adequate police deployment at accommodation centres and sports grounds.
Special security arrangements for girl players, ensuring accompaniment by team managers and local representatives during movement.
Transport and Control Room
Adequate bus services have been arranged for the movement of players and officials between accommodation sites, railway stations, and sports venues. A 24×7 control room is being set up with round-the-clock deployment of officers and staff to ensure seamless coordination throughout the event.
Venues for the Championship
The badminton matches will be held at three locations in Sagar city:
One additional designated sports facility in the city
The district administration and education department are working in close coordination to ensure that the national championship is conducted in a safe, disciplined, and athlete-friendly environment, reflecting Sagar’s capability to successfully host major sporting events.
