During the two-day visit of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav to Khajuraho, the state cabinet approved a series of major development decisions. 

Officials described the day as historic for Bundelkhand, particularly for Sagar district, which received multiple large-scale projects aimed at boosting industry, tourism, infrastructure and healthcare.

Food and Civil Supplies Minister Govind Singh Rajput said the decisions will “write a new chapter in Sagar’s development,” bringing investments worth thousands of crores and creating new employment opportunities, especially for youth.

₹25,000 Crore Industrial Zone to Create 30,000 Jobs

A new industrial area will be developed on 608.93 hectares near Richoda at a cost of ₹25,000 crore.
This mega project is expected to generate 30,000 employment opportunities.

Special industrial benefits announced include:

  • Token land price: ₹1 per sq. meter

  • Complete exemption on registration fees and annual rent

  • Reduced the electricity tariff for industries

Four Cheetahs to Arrive at Nauradehi Sanctuary in July

For the first time in Bundelkhand, cheetahs will be reintroduced to Nauradehi Wildlife Sanctuary.
This will create Madhya Pradesh’s third cheetah habitat after Kuno and Gandhi Sagar sanctuaries.

The Cabinet approved ₹2,059.85 crore for converting the 76.68 km Sagar–Damoh route into a four-lane road with paved shoulders.

The project will include:

  • 13 underpasses

  • 3 flyovers

  • 1 Railway Overbridge (ROB)

  • 13 major bridges and culverts
