Under the aegis of the 7 MP Girls Battalion NCC, Sagar, a Social Service and Community Development Programme focusing on the Jal Jeevan Mission” awareness campaign was organised in a simple and disciplined manner at the premises of MLB College, Unit 01, Sagar

The programme laid special emphasis on spreading public awareness about water conservation and the growing water crisis.

The awareness drive was guided by ANO Officer Major Pratibha Tiwari of the 7 MP Girls Battalion. The programme was conducted by First Officer Simta Mishra and Lieutenant Kirti Shekhawat.

The chief guest, Shri Ravindra Dev Chaubey, retired Deputy Director, Horticulture Department and Dr Harisingh Gour University, addressed the cadets on the importance of water, emerging water scarcity and future challenges

He elaborated on the objectives of the Jal Jeevan Mission – “Har Ghar Jal, Nal Se Jal”, urging everyone to save every drop of water. He also shared essential precautions to prevent water wastage and informed participants about important helpline numbers related to water supply issues.

As part of the awareness campaign, senior and junior girl cadets from schools, colleges and the university presented impactful performances on the theme Jal Hai To Kal Hai

Senior cadets staged a street play highlighting the importance of water, while junior cadets conveyed the message of nature conservation through dance. Awareness was further strengthened through speeches and a quiz programme.

The cadets also staged a nukkad natak (street play) at City Stadium Square on the theme Save Water, Secure the Future, drawing public attention. A water conservation rally was taken out with slogans such as Jal Sanrakshan, Do Not Waste Water and “Jal Hai To Kal Hai”

The rally passed through City Stadium, Deendayal Chowk and up to the Elevated Corridor, echoing with spirited slogans, before concluding peacefully at MLB Unit 01.

The successful execution of the programme was made possible with the support of the Army and Civil Staff of 7 MP Girls Battalion NCC, along with NCC officers Major Ramkumari Thakur, Captain Neha Jain, Lieutenant Vandana Tiwari, Lieutenant Dr Suman Patel and Third Officer Amila Tiwari. The cooperation of the Gopalganj Police Station In-charge and DSP Traffic in ensuring safety and smooth conduct was commendable.

The programme concluded with the collective singing of the NCC song “Hum Sab Bharatiya Hain”, reinforcing the spirit of unity and national responsibility.
