Sagar Watch News / To accelerate the overall development of the district, an important meeting of the District Development Advisory Committee was held at the Collectorate conference hall on Tuesday.
The meeting was chaired by the Deputy Chief Minister, In-charge Minister, and Health Minister, Shri Rajendra Shukla, in the presence of local MLAs, the Mayor, senior district officials, and representatives of various departments.
Shri Shukla conducted a point-wise review of ongoing development schemes, construction works, and public welfare issues across departments, emphasising the importance of timely execution, administrative efficiency, and accountability.
Key Highlights
Major road projects approved:
Long-pending Sagar Bypass/Ring Road project worth over ₹400 crore cleared.
₹2,000+ crore Sagar–Damoh four-lane road approved in the Khajuraho cabinet meeting, strengthening Bundelkhand connectivity.
Focus on water security:
Review of Jal Jeevan Mission, urban and rural drinking water schemes, pipelines, filter plants and distribution networks.
Strict instructions to ensure an uninterrupted water supply and parallel restoration work.
Health infrastructure boost:
Approval of three Neuro Surgery posts and start of super speciality services at Bundelkhand Medical College.
Announcement of a future Cancer Hospital in Sagar.
Emphasis on strengthening district hospitals, PHCs and CHCs with adequate equipment and manpower.
Innovative health initiatives:
Air ambulance services for Ayushman cardholders are highlighted as a major support for the poor.
Proposal to honour organ and body donors with Guard of Honour and recognition on national days.
Clear deadlines:
All health department construction works to be completed and inaugurated between January–March 2026.
Administrative reforms:
Directions to expedite land allotment, NOCs, clearances and pending proposals to avoid project delays.
Monitoring and accountability:
Officials instructed to increase field inspections, ensure regular monitoring and submit progress reports.
Warning of strict action in cases of negligence.
Industrial development review:
Sagar MLA Shri Shailendra Jain raised concerns over the progress of MOUs signed during the Regional Industrial Conclave, including Furniture and Silver Clusters.
Addressing the meeting, Shri Shukla said that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, financial discipline has strengthened the economy and increased per capita income.
He noted that once drought-prone Bundelkhand has now received a “water lifeline” through projects like Ken–Betwa and Parvati–Sindh links. He called upon the administrative machinery to match policy approvals with time-bound execution to translate development plans into ground-level impact.
Public representatives also shared their inputs, unanimously stressing that all development works must be completed within stipulated timelines and with assured quality, so that the benefits reach citizens without delay.
