Sagar Watch News/ District Panchayat President Hira Singh Rajput directed officials to ensure immediate water supply for crop irrigation, emphasizing that farmers urgently need water for the current agricultural season. He announced that farmers who pay their pending water tax in full by March 31, 2026, will receive a waiver of all penalties.
The directives came during the District Water Utility Committee meeting held at the Collectorate. District Panchayat Vice-President Devendra Singh Thakur, Additional Collector Avinash Rawat, and Executive Engineer Akhil Birthare were present along with other officials and public representatives.
Engineer Birthare informed that 147 irrigation projects under the Sagar division have a total live storage capacity of 447.59 MCM, enabling irrigation over 75,768 hectares.
Canal operations for water supply to farmers will commence from November 15, 2025. Farmers were urged to take advantage of the state government’s interest waiver scheme by clearing dues within the stipulated period.
