Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav, striking a strong political tone in Banda (Sagar district), asserted that the Ken–Betwa Link Project will “bring water to every field in Bundelkhand,” positioning it as a transformative step toward regional prosperity. 

Emphasising that “the government’s priority is the holistic development of farmers,” he urged cultivators not to sell their land under any circumstances. 

He further aligned his agenda with the Prime Minister’s vision, highlighting that Sandipani Schools are a key initiative to ensure quality education for poor and rural children.

Inaugurating the newly constructed ₹31-crore fully equipped Sandipani School building, the Chief Minister said the facility will directly benefit students of Banda region

He described the project as a “remarkable and ambitious initiative” aligned with PM Modi’s education vision, noting that Sandipani Schools are emerging as centres of all-round student development.

Highlighting the state’s push toward dairy excellence, Dr. Yadav announced that the government aims to make Madhya Pradeshnumber one in milk production.” To promote cattle rearing, he said the state is providing a subsidy of up to ₹10 lakh for opening gaushalas with at least 25 cows.

The Chief Minister also announced that a state-wide Gita Jayanti Mahotsav will be celebrated from December 1, along with the construction of Gita Bhavans and Vrindavan Grams in every district and Janpad Panchayat.

At the event, Dr. Yadav inaugurated and performed bhoomi pujan for 16 development works worth ₹50.65 crore. He also approved the long-pending Launch River Project for Sagar district and announced several key civic projects.

Including a civil hospital at Shahgarh, a fully equipped stadium in Banda, a post-mortem house at the Banda civil hospital, and new school buildings in Rakshi, Chakeri and Vineyaka.

Food and Civil Supplies Minister Govind Singh Rajput highlighted Bundelkhand’s vast mineral wealth and its strong potential for investment, predicting Banda’s rise as a leading regional hub. MP Rahul Singh Lodhi and Banda MLA Virendra Singh also addressed the gathering.

During the ceremony, the Chief Minister honoured the father of martyr Rajesh Yadav of village Quaila and the father of cricketer Kranti Gour, originally from Lidhaura village in Banda tehsil.
