News Review/

The news report highlights the divisional commissioner’s strong reaction over the delay in constructing new Anganwadi centre buildings in the Sagar division

The report succeeds in presenting the urgency and administrative pressure behind this issue, yet it remains largely descriptive and lacks analytical depth.

While it effectively conveys the commissioner’s reprimand to the concerned officials and agencies, it does not explore the root causes of the delay — such as bureaucratic bottlenecks, fund allocation issues, or contractor inefficiency.

Moreover, the report could have been strengthened by including responses from the Women and Child Development Department or insights from local beneficiaries affected by the absence of proper Anganwadi facilities.

Although the coverage of related schemes like the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana and Nutrition Rehabilitation Centres adds breadth, it still reads like an official summary rather than a indepth analysis.

Overall, the report is informative but one-sided, reflecting administrative action more than public accountability.

Sagar Division Commissioner Mr. Anil Suchari has expressed strong displeasure over the non-commencement of construction work for new Anganwadi centre buildings across the division. Taking serious note of the delay, he directed that show-cause notices be issued to the concerned construction agencies responsible for the lapse.

During a divisional review meeting of the Women and Child Development Department, the Commissioner instructed the Joint Director to apprise district collectors and Chief Executive Officers of the Janpad Panchayats about the obstacles delaying the projects and to ensure that the construction work begins without further delay.

Reviewing progress on a district-wise basis, Mr. Suchari emphasized the need to expedite the pace of work on all pending Anganwadi centres. He also conducted a review of the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, calling it one of the government’s most important welfare schemes and instructing officials to achieve 100% implementation.

Expressing concern over the slow progress in Niwari, Tikamgarh, and Panna districts, the Commissioner urged for immediate corrective action. He also reviewed the functioning of Nutrition Rehabilitation Centres (NRCs), directing officials to improve their condition and ensure 100% admission of malnourished children.

Further, the Commissioner stressed continuous monitoring of NRCs and reviewed the progress of Ladli Laxmi Yojana and Ladli Behna Yojana. The meeting was attended by Joint Director Mr. B.L. Prajapati, Joint Commissioner Mr. Rakesh Shukla, and other departmental officials.
