Sagar Watch News/ In a stern warning to Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) beneficiaries, authorities have clarified that no beneficiary is allowed to construct houses on government land. Any individual found violating this rule could face strict legal action — even jail time.

During a recent review of PM Awas complaints, officials instructed that beneficiaries must build or renovate their homes only on their existing private property, using the funds provided under the scheme. They emphasized that no construction should take place on government-owned land under any circumstances.

District Collector Sandeep G.R. further directed that officials should “zero-tag” only those houses built on old private properties, ensuring strict compliance with the PMAY guidelines.

In the same meeting, the Collector also instructed the police department to handle women harassment cases with utmost seriousness and ensure prompt resolution.

Authorities have made it clear — misuse of PM Awas funds or illegal construction on government land will not be tolerated and could lead to criminal proceedings against violators.
