Sagar Watch News, October 1/  Medical Teachers’ Day was celebrated at the auditorium of Bundelkhand Medical College on the birth anniversary of Bundelkhand’s pride, the late Dr. Bhagwandin Chaurasia.

Dr. B.D. Chaurasia, born in Barigarh village of Chhatarpur in a simple farmer’s family, rose to become a world-famous author in the subject of Anatomy. His journey is considered highly inspirational.

The chief guest, Dean Dr. P.S. Thakur, said that a good teacher is one who knows how to share knowledge effectively, not just how much knowledge he has.

After lighting the lamp and garlanding Dr. Chaurasia’s portrait, the Medical Teachers’ Association president gave a brief introduction of his life.

He explained that earlier, Anatomy books were written in very difficult English by foreign authors, making it hard for students, especially from Hindi medium, to understand.

Dr. Chaurasia solved this problem by writing a four-volume book in simple English with illustrations. His books became popular in many non-English-speaking countries.

The program was chaired by Superintendent Dr. Rajesh Jain, with Deputy Superintendent Dr. S.P. Singh as special guest. The event ended with a vote of thanks by Secretary Dr. Akhilesh Ratnakar
