The Makronia Municipality's troubles appear to be increasing during the festive season. Due to the municipality's negligent functioning, residents of the area may face drinking water shortages starting next week.

Sagar Municipal Corporation Commissioner has issued an order to stop the water supply to Makronia from October 7th. This situation has arisen due to the negligence of Makronia Municipal Corporation officials. 

They showed gross negligence in paying Sagar Municipal Corporation's water tax, resulting in outstanding water tax arrears reaching crores of rupees.

Municipal Commissioner Rajkumar Khatri held a recovery review meeting. During the recovery review, the Commissioner directed Makronia Municipality to issue a final notice for outstanding water tax of ₹12 crore 13 lakh 18 thousand 726 rupees until September 2025. 

The notice issued by the Water Supply Department states that the outstanding water tax must be paid to the Municipal Corporation by October 6, 2025, otherwise the water supply will be stopped from October 7, 2025.

The Municipal Corporation Commissioner stated that approximately Rs. 1.5 crore is being spent every month on the supply of drinking water. Water is being supplied to Makronia Municipality through a bulk connection since April 1, 2024, the amount for which is not being deposited.
