– The 194th birth anniversary of freedom fighter Veerangana Rani Avantibai was celebrated in Deori, Sagar district, with calls to inspire daughters to follow her ideals of courage and determination.

Addressing the event, Madhya Pradesh Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Prahlad Singh Patel said that Rani Avantibai, who sacrificed her life at just 28 while fighting the British, remains a symbol of bravery.

He urged families to raise daughters as hardworking and fearless as the freedom fighter, adding that today’s changed circumstances demand girls be empowered with good values and quality education.

Patel also called for unity against social evils like addiction and stressed that youth should engage not only in farming but also in education and agro-based industries.

Member of Parliament Rahul Singh underlined the need for rural youth to balance agriculture with education and entrepreneurship, cautioning that many get distracted in cities.

Deori MLA Brajbihari Pateria hailed Rani Avantibai as a true embodiment of women’s power during the 1857 revolt, while Banda MLA Virendra Singh Lodhi urged society to eradicate alcohol consumption and death-feast practices, and to promote education.
