Sagar Watch News/Patron of the Democratic Samajwadi Party Raghu Thakur stated that the provisions of the 123rd Amendment Bill introduced in Parliament are undemocratic and will establish a dictatorship of a single ruling party in the country. However, this bill has been sent to the Parliamentary Committee after being introduced in the Parliament.
While talking to journalists today, Mr. Thakur said that there is incompleteness in both the ruling and the opposition. The government claims that the bill has been introduced for purity, but this will place the decision of purity solely in the hands of the government.
In this regard, Mr. Thakur suggested that if there is a provision for removal from the post if bail is not granted within 30 days, then this amendment should also be made so that the decision from the interim appeal should come out within 29 days.
He said that in the past, he remained in jail for 22 months, and later the investigating agency said that no evidence was found against him. It is his moral responsibility to voluntarily resign from the post, but removing him by making legal provisions is neither judicial nor democratic. Mr Thakur said that the opposition also raised a hue and cry, but no logical debate was made.
The Loktantrik Samajwadi Party has sent a letter to the Home Minister demanding that a provision be added so that in any case the final appellate court's decision comes within 29 days, or the person should not be removed from the post till the final appellate decision, it should be left to the person. Along with this, action should also be taken against those investigation agencies which suspend the investigation after the arrest.
