Bihar holds great importance for BJP in the Lok Sabha elections 2024.

In the 2019 elections, the BJP-led NDA alliance had won 39 out of the total 40 seats in the state. Whereas the JDU led grand alliance got only one seat.

BJP is raising the slogan of crossing 400 once. In this respect, it will once again have to repeat its old performance in Bihar.

But it seems that its strategists realize that it is not easy to accomplish this task without taking Nitish Kumar's RJD party along.

BJP has come to know that if it has to write the story of election victory in Bihar, then it will have to take special care of characters like Nitish Kumar's JDU and the main constituent of the grand alliance, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD).

The secret of why these two political parties are important for BJP in the context of Bihar's victory in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections is hidden in the results of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

In the 2019 elections, in the internal distribution of seats of the NDA alliance, BJP and JDU got 17 seats each. Among them, BJP won all the seats. Whereas JDU won only 16 seats. But still his importance for BJP kept increasing instead of decreasing. The main reason for this was the continuously increasing dominance of Rashtriya Janata Dal i.e. RJD in the politics of Bihar.

The results of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections had also proved this to some extent. Despite not being able to win even a single seat in this election, RJD's support base was not much less than that of BJP and JDU.

The three parties BJP, JDU and RJD got 24, 22 and 15 percent votes respectively in the elections. Looking at the results, no one can take the risk of saying that the support base gained by RJD is not capable of changing the results of Bihar.

Looking at this picture of the figures, BJP understood that it would be difficult, if not impossible, to win Bihar without taking Nitish's party along. Therefore, once again BJP has made Nitish Kumar sit in its lap.
