agar Watch News/ Sagar district has achieved a major milestone in the nationwide Census campaign by completing the massive house listing operation in just 15 days. The achievement has placed Sagar at the top position in Madhya Pradesh for completing work across the highest number of HLBs, setting a new state record.

The district successfully completed the enumeration of more than seven lakh houses covering a population exceeding 24 lakh people. Due to continuous administrative monitoring, house listing work has been completed in over 4,362 HLBs across the district.
Collector Pratibha Pal congratulated residents for cooperating with officials and employees engaged in the Census mega drive. She also appreciated the efforts of Additional Collector and District Census Officer Avinash Rawat, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Rajkumar Khatri, charge officers, enumerators, and all personnel, both directly and indirectly, involved in the operation.
She stated that the house listing campaign, which formally began on May 2 after preparations from May 1, was completed on May 15 within the stipulated timeline. Calling it the first phase of the Census, she urged officials to maintain the same pace and efficiency in the upcoming second phase as well.
According to officials, the work was carried out under the direction of the Madhya Pradesh Directorate of Census Operations with constant monitoring at every administrative level.
NIC officer Delan Prajapati credited the success to the leadership and efficient planning of Collector Pratibha Pal. He highlighted that despite having the highest number of HLBs in Madhya Pradesh, Sagar completed the task 15 days ahead of the deadline.
Special figures released by the administration revealed that, excluding the municipal corporation area, enumeration was proposed for 6,98,781 houses, but officials successfully covered 7,00,720 houses, recording a population count of 24,27,473 people.
In the municipal corporation area, work through 439 HLBs is underway, with 390 HLBs already completed and the remaining work expected to conclude by Monday.
Additional Collector and District Census Officer Avinash Rawat extended congratulations to district residents, charge officers, and enumerators for the landmark achievement.
