Sagar Watch News/ Noted for his selfless social service and humanitarian work at the grassroots level, Paritosh Katare—popularly known among residents as “Sintu Katare”—has been honoured by the district administration for his outstanding public service.
On March 6, Collector Sandeep G.R. presented him with a certificate of appreciation, acknowledging his tireless efforts in helping people during emergencies and crises.
The honour was originally scheduled to be conferred on Republic Day, but was delayed by nearly two months due to a technical issue related to the name printed on the certificate.
The administration had prepared the certificate in his official name, Paritosh, while he is widely known in the city as Sintu, causing confusion when his name was called on stage.
Sintu Katare has long been regarded as a symbol of compassion in the city, often stepping forward in situations where others hesitate. From performing the last rites of unclaimed bodies to rescuing victims in road accidents and fire incidents, he has consistently placed himself at risk to help others.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, he played a crucial role in assisting migrant workers and distributing food and essential supplies. In one notable instance during the crisis, he helped arrange the marriages of two daughters of an elderly couple who feared they might not live long enough to see the ceremonies completed.
Collector Sandeep G.R. praised Katare’s dedication and also informed him about the Madhya Pradesh Government’s “Rahveer” scheme, which honours citizens who help victims of road accidents.
