Sagar Watch News/The Department of Business Management at Dr Harisingh Gour University, under the banner of the Sagar Obstetrics and Gynaecological Society, organised a one-day seminar on “Digital Violence Against Women”.
The event aimed to raise awareness about increasing online threats such as cyberbullying, online harassment, cyber stalking, fake profiles and irresponsible social media behaviour affecting women and youth.

Cyber Stalking: Repeatedly tracking someone’s online activity or sending unwanted messages.
Photo Morphing: Editing someone’s photos without permission to misuse them.
Fake Profile: Creating a false identity online to deceive or harass others.
The seminar began with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony in the presence of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Yashwant Singh Thakur, Head of Department Dr Suneet Walia, and invited medical experts. Organiser Dr Prerna Jain welcomed all guests with floral greetings.

Dr Nidhi Jain, Secretary of the organising committee, outlined the increasing cases of digital violence and its impact on society.

Chief speaker Dr Smita Dubey discussed Gen-Z’s deep engagement with social media and how constant photo uploading and sharing personal moments can trigger anxiety, stress, and self-esteem issues among young people.

Dr Jyoti Chauhan explained different forms of digital violence and stressed that rising dependence on digital platforms is worsening these risks.

Dr Ruby Reza highlighted careless online behaviour such as oversharing information, ignoring privacy settings, and neglecting digital safety, which often exposes youth to danger and contributes to crimes against women.

Dr Taruna Sharma, Dr Monica Jain, and Dr Swati Patel spoke about the social, psychological, and family-level impacts of digital violence, emphasising that awareness is the strongest shield in the digital age.
A powerful street play (nukkad natak) on digital safety, cyber responsibility, and women’s online protection was performed by the doctors, leaving a strong emotional impact on the audience.
The seminar, coordinated by Dr Prerna Jain, saw participation from over 200 students, along with faculty and medical professionals, including Dr Babita Yadav, Dr Vakula Kumari, Dr Lokesh Uke, Dr Ankur Randhelia, Dr Pushpendra Kumar, and others.
The programme successfully sensitised students, teachers, and healthcare experts about the growing dangers of digital violence and the urgent need for responsible and safe online behaviour.
