Sagar Watch News/ November 20/ — A special dialogue programme organised by the Press Information Bureau (PIB), Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, highlighted the enduring national significance of the song Vande Mataram, even 150 years after its creation.
Prof. Diwakar Shukla, Nominee Vice-Chancellor of Dr Harisingh Gour University, emphasised that the song continues to inspire patriotic unity from Kanyakumari to Kashmir, just as it did during the freedom movement.
Prof. Shukla noted that the song’s unique cultural, social and political appeal had once united youth, farmers, villagers, urban citizens, rich and poor alike, triggering several historic mass movements. Joint Registrar Prof. Santosh Sagaura added that the post-independence resonance of “Vande Mataram” and “Jai Hind” reflects its unmatched national attraction, urging today’s youth to learn the song’s historic roots.
PIB Bhopal Director Manish Gautam explained that the programme was part of a nationwide initiative inspired by the Prime Minister’s call, with 12 offices of the Central Bureau of Communication in Madhya Pradesh conducting similar public-awareness events. The event also featured videos on the historical context of Vande Mataram and key initiatives of the Government of India.
Journalists shared their perspectives on the song, while officials from PIB and the Central Bureau of Communication conducted and concluded the programme. Guests were welcomed with floral bouquets and mementoes.
