Sagar Watch News/ October 24 / In a decisive move to maintain cleanliness and order in Sagar city, Municipal Commissioner and Executive Director of Sagar Smart City, Rajkumar Khatri, conducted an early morning inspection on Friday across several dairy units operating within city limits.
During the inspection, he ordered an FIR and a ₹10,000 fine against dairy operator Devendra Ghosi of Laxmipura Ward for spreading large quantities of cow dung in an open plot near the road.
Commissioner Khatri inspected 10 dairies in total and directed officials to file FIRs against nine operators for non-compliance with relocation directives. One dairy owner, Omkar (Lallu) Yadav, agreed to relocate his unit outside the city within the stipulated time.
The inspection is part of the city’s ambitious Dairy Relocation Project at Hafsili, aimed at ensuring cleaner surroundings, reducing traffic disruptions caused by stray cattle, and preventing injuries to citizens. Khatri emphasized that the initiative seeks to make Sagar “animal-free on streets” through a systematic and time-bound relocation plan.
During his city tour, Khatri personally visited dairies operated by Saurabh, Akhilesh, and Suresh Yadav (Gopalganj); Ramesh, Premnarayan, and Rohit Yadav (Shanichari); Devendra and Chandu Ghosi (Laxmipura); and Pradeep Yadav (Keshavganj), instructing all to shift their operations outside city limits within a few days.
The commissioner assured dairy owners that the administration would extend full support to those cooperating with the relocation plan. Facilities such as a veterinary hospital and administrative building have been constructed at the Hafsili project site to meet their needs.
He also stated that plots previously misused or left vacant have been reclaimed to provide space for genuine dairy operators.
Khatri reiterated that relocating dairies benefits everyone—citizens, dairy owners, livestock, and the city itself—and warned that strict action will be taken against those who fail to comply.
