Sagar Watch News/ On the directives of Collector Sandeep G.R., strict action has been taken against three fair price shops under Sagar tehsil following the detection of serious irregularities. The authorization letters of the shops were cancelled, and recovery proceedings worth lakhs of rupees have been initiated.

Key Points of the Action:

• Fair Price Shop – Kanchari (Narayawali):

  • Authorization cancelled under the Essential Commodities Act, 1955.

  • Recovery of ₹6,38,630 initiated.

  • Vendor: Arvind Soni (Shop Code 1003080).

• Fair Price Shop – Meher (Sagar Tehsil):

  • Authorization cancelled due to irregularities.

  • Recovery of ₹11,50,111 initiated.

  • Vendor: Shailnandani Sen, wife of Manoj Sen (Shop Code 1001100).

• Fair Price Shop – Khajuria Guru (Sagar Tehsil):

  • Authorization cancelled after irregularities confirmed.

  • Recovery of ₹6,82,000 initiated.

  • Vendor: Arvind Kumar Soni (Shop Code 1001103).

• Investigation Basis:

  • Report submitted by the Assistant Supply Officer, Sagar.

  • Show-cause notices were earlier issued to the vendors.

  • Vendors failed to provide satisfactory responses to the charges.

• Final Action:

  • Considering the responses unsatisfactory, and based on grave irregularities, authorization of the institutions was cancelled under the MP Public Distribution System (Control) Order, 2015.

  • Orders were executed by SDM Aditi Yadav under the Collector’s directives.
