City will witness a grand cultural evening on September 14 at 7 PM at Padmakar Auditorium, Moti Nagar, in memory of the city’s pride—renowned film lyricist, politician, and cultural icon, late Vitthal Bhai Patel. The event, organized jointly by the Vitthal Bhai Patel Cultural Foundation, Indore and Sagar, will feature a musical evening anda felicitation ceremony.

The highlight of the evening will be the performance of Singer Sai Ram Iyer, famous for his unique ability to sing in both male and female voices, recreating duets live on stage. He will be joined by Ishita Vishwakarma, Anil Shrivastava, and Iqbal Khan, who will enthrall audiences with their soulful renditions.

The program will also honor eminent personalities from the fields of literature, journalism, cinema, and social service. Renowned singer Ashish Dubey will host the evening and design the musical flow, while celebrated music arranger Yogesh Pathak will lead a 10-member orchestra team.

This annual cultural tribute has been organized since 2014 (except during the pandemic), mostly in Indore and Bhopal. For the first time, it is being held in Sagar, the birthplace of Vitthal Bhai Patel, making it especially significant. This year’s event is also dedicated to the centenary of legendary filmmaker Raj Kapoor, who shared a close bond with Vitthal Bhai Patel.

Vitthal Bhai is best remembered for the evergreen hit “Jhooth Bole Kauwa Kaate” from the film Bobby, and for his deep contribution to Teesri Kasam, directed by Basu Bhattacharya and immortalized by lyricist Shailendra. The organizers said their aim is to keep alive the memory of Vitthal Bhai as both a people’s leader and a poet.
