On Independence Day in Sagar, Collector Sandeep G.R. hoisted the national flag after inspecting the parade, followed by the reading of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav’s message to the people of Madhya Pradesh. 

In his address, the CM highlighted “Operation Sindoor” as a symbol of India’s military bravery, praised the armed forces’ modern capabilities, and credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for instilling pride across the nation. 

He also emphasized the nationwide campaigns “Har Ghar Tiranga” and “Har Ghar Swachhata,” noting enthusiastic public participation in Madhya Pradesh from August 2 to 15.

As the chief guest, Collector Sandeep G.R. extended greetings and shared the district’s progress under the vision of a self-reliant and developed Madhya Pradesh. 

Key achievements included: securing ₹23,000 crore investment proposals at the 2024 Regional Industry Conclave, launching the “Fruit Forest” plan with 10 lakh fruit saplings, initiating the “Udaan” program to address doctor shortages, improving child nutrition through kitchen gardens in 2,633 Anganwadis, and setting up special grievance hearings for differently-abled citizens. 

The district also ranked high nationally in cleanliness surveys, improved board exam results by 15%, freed tribal land from encroachment, demarcated 699 ponds, protected thousands of cattle under the CM Gau Seva Yojana, advanced housing projects under PMAY, issued 13.7 lakh Ayushman cards, and provided tap water to over 2.25 lakh households under Jal Jeevan Mission.

The celebrations featured a parade led by DSP Pratibha Jain with participation from police, NCC, and Shaurya Dal contingents, as well as patriotic cultural performances by school students. Freedom fighters and democracy activists were honored, and outstanding officials, employees, and student performers received awards and certificates.
