Swadeshi Mela- from December 23, 2025 to January 4, 2026

Sagar Watch News/ The Bhoomi Pujan (groundbreaking ceremony) and inauguration of the fair office for the Swadeshi Mela were ceremonially held on Thursday, December 18, at PTC Ground, Sagar. 

The fair is being organised for the third time in the city under the aegis of Swadeshi Jagran Manch by the Swarnim Bharatvarsh Foundation. 

The grand event will be open to the public from December 23, 2025, to January 4, 2026. Sagar Mayor Sangeeta Sushil Tiwari attended the programme as the chief guest.

Addressing the gathering, Sudhir Dante, Central Region Convenor of Swadeshi Jagran Manch, said that the Swadeshi Mela is not merely a commercial event but a meaningful platform to nurture the cultural, creative and entrepreneurial talents of local youth. He emphasised that national progress can only be achieved through collective self-effort, which is the core spirit behind organising the Swadeshi Mela.

1. Grand Duration: Swadeshi Mela to be held from December 23, 2025, to January 4, 2026 at PTC Ground, Sagar.

1. Wide Participation: Around 200 stalls from states including Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Kashmir, Punjab (Ludhiana), Delhi and Kolkata.

1. Swadeshi Products: Display and sale of indigenous products, handicrafts, textiles, household items and traditional artworks.

1. Major Attraction: A giant sky-high swing will be a key attraction for visitors.

1. Spiritual Highlight: On December 30, devotees will get the rare opportunity for divine darshan of the Somnath Jyotirlinga, now preserved under the guidance of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar.

1. Youth Platform: A golden opportunity for school and college students to showcase their talents.

1. Cultural & Sports Events: Kasak Mahotsav, Vibhor Band performance, rangoli, mehndi, craft and clay art, paper craft, cooking competitions, Thali Sajao, Kho-Kho, Mallakhamb, Kabaddi, Taekwondo and Swadeshi Samvad.

1. Public Timings: The fair will remain open daily from 12 noon to 10:30 pm.

1. Social Participation: Daily presentations by different social groups to promote unity and cultural diversity.

1. Core Objective: Promotion of Swadeshi products, encouragement of self-reliance (Atmanirbhar Bharat) and awareness against the use of foreign goods.

Mela Convenor Dipti Chanderiya shared important information about the historic recovery of the sacred Somnath Jyotirlinga, terming its darshan at the mela a rare and spiritually significant moment. Provincial Convenor Nitin Pataria highlighted the fair’s role in encouraging youth participation and skill development.

Mahakaushal Provincial Media Contact Head Rajkumar Namdev, District Convenor Saurabh Randheliya, Co-Convenors Sunil Sagar and Anjali Dubey, and Department Trainer Ravindra Thakur underlined the importance of such events in strengthening the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat and youth self-employment.

Mela Media In-charge Akhilesh Samaiya expressed gratitude to all guests, volunteers and supporters, stating that the Swadeshi Mela is a strong step towards making the nation self-reliant.

Prominent members including Vinay Malaiya, Karan Shrivastava, Siddharth Shukla, Sunita Arihant, Sushmita Thakur, Atul Agrawal and Prashant Jain Payal appealed to citizens to visit the mela in large numbers and actively support the Swadeshi movement.
