Madhya Pradesh State Food Commission Chairman Shri Virendra Kumar Malhotra on Monday issued strict directives ensuring transparent ration distribution, quality nutrition in Anganwadis and schools, and timely treatment for malnourished children during a review meeting in Sagar.
Key Directives
1. Transparent Ration Distribution Across 1033 Shops

Rations must be distributed within the stipulated time and with complete transparency.

Continuous monitoring of all 1033 fair-price shops is mandatory.
-
On receiving complaints, the licenses of shops should be immediately cancelled.

Of the remaining 97 shops, each must be assigned to a single individual to ensure a smooth distribution.
-
Special arrangements must be made for beneficiaries whose fingerprints do not match.
-
No elderly beneficiary should return without receiving ration.
2. Quality Mid-Day Meals & Anganwadi Nutrition
-
Mid-day meals must be nutritious, hygienic, and served on time.
-
Kitchen sheds must maintain proper cleanliness, and damaged sheds must be repaired immediately.
-
Wood-fired cooking is strictly prohibited; all centres must use LPG stoves.
-
Damaged utensils used by children must be replaced without delay.
3. Treatment for Malnourished Children

All malnourished (MAM) and severely malnourished (SAM) children must be identified and admitted to the Nutrition Rehabilitation Centre (NRC) for treatment.

Aim: ensure every child becomes fully nourished.
4. Support for Pregnant & Lactating Mothers
-
Under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, eligible women are entitled to receive financial assistance on time.
-
All benefits for pregnant and lactating mothers must be provided within deadlines.
5. Strict Disposal of CM Helpline Complaints
-
CM Helpline grievances must be resolved within the time limit.
-
Concerned officers must stay in touch with complainants until redressal is completed.
