A big step has been taken to solve the traffic problem at Makronia Square. In a meeting of the District Road Safety Committee, the Collector gave directions to start traffic signals and run an awareness campaign so that people can follow traffic rules and reduce jams.

Acting on these orders, the district police, traffic police, Nagar Palika Makronia, and the PWD started the traffic signals after a five-day trial. To help drivers understand the new system, traffic police and Nagar Palika staff were posted at the square. They guided drivers on where to stop before the white line and how to follow the red, yellow, and green lights.

Makronia Square is one of the busiest spots as vehicles from Banda, Narsinghpur, Civil Lines, Sadar, and Battalion roads pass through here. Earlier, people often faced heavy jams, but with the signals now working, traffic flow will be smoother, and time will be saved.

DSP Traffic Mayank Singh informed that the signals have been fixed with proper timings. The Banda–Civil Line road gets 35 seconds as it has the most vehicles, while other roads like Narsinghpur and Battalion Road have been given 10 to 20 seconds. Staff will remain at the square for some time to help drivers follow the rules properly
