Sagar Watch, Madhya Pradesh – September 13, 2025/– In a swift crackdown on corruption, the Lokayukta police arrested a junior engineer from the Madhya Pradesh Poorv Kshetra Vidyut Vitran Company on Saturday after catching him red-handed while accepting a ₹1 lakh bribe.
The accused, identified as Milan Parteeti, was nabbed during a sting operation in the Makronia area's Abhinandan Nagar. The case revolves around a request to relocate an 11 kV electricity line passing over a plot of land, which required approval from the power company.
According to the complainant, Ramkumar Patel—a contractor working under licensed contractor Jitendra Jain—alleged that Parteeti had been delaying the approval and demanding a total of ₹1.5 lakh in exchange for facilitating the work. The deal reportedly involved ₹1 lakh upfront upon approval and the remaining ₹50,000 after completion.
Patel lodged a formal complaint with the Lokayukta police, prompting an investigation. Acting on the tip-off, a Lokayukta team laid a trap around 3:30 p.m. on Saturday in Sagar. As per the plan, Patel handed over the ₹1 lakh bribe to Parteeti, who was immediately apprehended by the waiting officers.
The operation was led by Lokayukta Inspector Roshni Jain, with a team comprising Kamal Singh Uike, Constable Nilesh Pandey, Arvind Nayak, Raghavendra Singh, Shafiq Khan, Goldy, and other officials. Evidence was collected from the scene, and Parteeti was taken into custody.
A case has been registered against the engineer under the Prevention of Corruption Act. Investigations are ongoing to determine if Parteeti has accepted bribes in previous instances, as authorities probe deeper into his conduct.
