Sagar Watch News/ Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee, the party has taken serious note of alleged atrocities against the tribal community in the state. An inquiry committee, led by former minister and MLA Omkar Singh Markam, has been constituted to investigate the matter.
The committee visited Malthon in Sagar district to examine the circumstances surrounding the death of late Nilesh, a member of the tribal community, who reportedly died by suicide.
Accompanied by fellow committee members, Markam met the deceased’s widow to ascertain the facts and personally inspected the incident site. Speaking to the media, he shared details of the situation on the ground.
The inquiry team includes MLAs Sunil Uike, Abhijeet Shah, and Ramu Tekam, State President of the Congress AJJA cell. The press conference was attended by District Congress in-charge Ghanshyam Singh, former MLA Manoj Kapoor, City District Congress President, and Rural District President Dr. Anand Ahirwar, along with former MPs.
Markam stated that under the BJP regime, members of the tribal community continue to feel unsafe, calling the current situation one of the most severe forms of oppression in recent times. The inquiry team also visited Chanderi in Ashoknagar district and Malthon in Khurai constituency, where they met with affected families.
The press conference was conducted by State Spokesperson Dr. Sandeep Sablok, with District Spokesperson Ashish Jyotishi. Others present included spokesperson Avadhesh Tomar, Seva Dal President Sintu Katare, Mahesh Jatav, Shailendra Tomar, Nitin Pachauri, and Piyush Awasthi.
