Sagar Watch News/ Public Works Minister Rakesh Singh, during a divisional review meeting in Sagar, emphasized that engineers must play a positive and transparent role in society and warned against unjustified extensions in construction deadlines, and instructed that penalties be imposed if projects are delayed without valid reasons.
He directed the timely resolution of complaints on the Lokpath App and called for surprise inspections of public welfare ponds and timely completion of construction work in Sandipani schools.
Agencies completing projects on or before time should be rewarded, he added, appreciating the timely completion of projects like Sandipani Schools in Niwari and Prithvipur, and the Chhatarpur Medical College building, he said.
The Minister stressed the need for coordination among departments and the timely clearance of all no-objection certificates. He instructed that once building or road designs are finalized, changes should be minimized.
He emphasised that local representatives must be consulted during design preparation. He also highlighted the importance of regular field monitoring by senior officials to ensure quality and timely delivery.
Singh stated that engineers are vital to society and must not compromise on quality or ethics. Training camps will be organized to keep engineers updated.
He instructed concerned officers to make swift progress on projects like the cable-stayed bridge at Rangir Harsiddhi Mata temple and ensured that land acquisition and clearance tasks be completed within the timeline under the district collector’s supervision.
Lastly, he emphasized the importance of ensuring drinking water availability before initiating building construction and demanded regular inspection of recharge pits on roads. The meeting included MLAs, senior officials, and department heads of various public works departments.
In the divisional review meeting, apart from MLAs Bhupendra Singh, Pradeep Lariya, Virendra Singh Lodhi, Uma Devi Khatik, Prahlad Lodhi, District Panchayat President, BJP District President along with other public representatives and senior officers of the Public Works Department and other officials were present.
