SagarWatch@ After receiving many complaints from various cities about non-essential work being done by Smart City Companies, Urban and Housing Minister Bhupendra Singh, in a review meeting, expressed his displeasure as to why the smart city is doing the work of other departments. The officials of Smart City have been told more than once that work should be done in the Smart City which will be useful for the citizens added Singh.

 Smart City Project: Installed Traffic Signals at Steep Road

Despite Minister's advice Smart City officials, here in Sagar, have installed Traffic signals near Peeli Kothi on the City Link valley Road, connecting Sagar Nagar, the divisional headquarters of Bundelkhand with Makronia,  has become a headache for the vehicles.

It may be known that according to the guideline in Sagar Nagar, which was included in the Smart City, 5 years ago, no such work could be done which is really useful.

 Smart City Project: Spending Funds Without Much Planning

It seems that the Smart City Managers are anyhow just trying to spend the amount received from the Central Government. For instance, Smart City Planners has Just spent funds on the installation of Signboards and traffic signals across the city were literally without much planning.

It might be called unique case in which Smart City Planners has installed Traffic signals in the middle of the valley near the peeli Kothi on the City Link Road connecting the city from Zero Miles to Makronia intersection ahead of the Municipal Corporation.

It is visible from the Smart City's smartness signal that from the technical point of view, the signal on the valley is not appropriate at any cost. But the contractors have to benefit from the amount received from the central government.

On the valley itself, the municipal corporation has not been able to improve the pipelines of drinking water supply for years till date, due to which leakages are exposed there. But even then, the zebra line has been built near the traffic signal by the smart city.

Earlier, the Smart City had installed traffic signals in the rear gate of the Swedish Mission School, in front of the District Panchayat Office, which was unusable. When the appropriateness of the signal was questioned in the newspapers, the traffic signals have been installed near the Nagar Palik Nigam Commissioner's Residence and Sales Tax Office.
