Sagar Watch News/ Today, on the occasion of International Women's Day, the girls of Sagar district are being discussed in the sports world who have made their mark at the national level and have increased the prestige of the district. These girls have made a name for themselves in various sports events.

It is noteworthy that the theme of International Women's Day 2024 is - “Inspire Inclusion..” i.e. a world where everyone gets equal rights and respect. Girls and women who are making their mark in every sphere of life are also experts in sports disciplines. She is winning various medals at the national level.

Mahjavi Mirza of Sagar – Won bronze medal in National Hockey Under-17 School Girls Competition (Kudagu Karnataka) in January 2024.

Sagar's Ragini Maurya won gold and bronze medal in Taekwondo in Khelo India Women's League Face-Two Senior Open National 2024.

Anupriya Vishwakarma, resident of Makronia, showed her talent in table tennis and won the prize in MP. She is continuously winning awards at state and national level also. Presently Anupriya is pursuing Master of Physical Education degree from Bhopal.

In 34th National Kayaking Canoeing Championship 2023, Krishna Kacher   and  Mahi Rawat of Shahgarh won the bronze medal .

Even in Kabaddi competition, which is considered a man's game, girls have shown their mettle. Shivani Lodhi of Sagar won gold medal in School National Kabaddi Competition (Karnataka) 2017.

Similarly, School National Kabaddi Competition (Karnataka) 2017 Muskaan Vishwakarma Anuja Garg won gold medal.

In Kudo, Sagar's Divi Jain won gold medal in the 14th National Kudo Competition (Surat Gujarat) 2024.

Aastha Rajak and Sanjan Ahirwar of Bina won gold and bronze medals respectively in the state level competition 6000 meters in cross country in 2024.

Kajal Rajak of Bina won the gold medal in the cross country state level 4000 meters 2024 competition.

Sagar Raksha Balmiki State Level Open Federation 200 m in athletics also. And won gold medal in 400m athletics competition Bhopal 2023. Sheetal Kushwaha won gold medal in Athletics State Level Open Federation 5 km and 12 km Athletics Competition, Bhopal 2023.

These girls have not only brought glory to Sagar district of Madhya Pradesh but have also encouraged many girls like them to move forward. All these girls of Sagar district have given an opportunity to our district, state and country to be proud.

On the eve of International Women's Day, a program on International Women's Day was organized in the Golden Jubilee Auditorium of Dr. Harisingh Gour University. On this occasion, a lecture was organized on the topic ‘Investing in Women: Accelerate Progress’.

Special guest of the program, Dr. Anita Bhatnagar, in her address expressed concern over women not getting justice in the country and said that many survey reports of the country show that the graph of violence against women is still quite high. This mentality and behavior hinders the progress of the country. At present, about 70 percent of women are not able to complain about domestic violence.

She said that economic independence empowers women. Today, importance is being given to the economic value of domestic labour. It is a pleasant aspect that their role in the progress of the nation is being highlighted.

In this connection, the chairperson of the program, Vice Chancellor Prof. Neelima Gupta said in her address that there was a time when women were known only for household work and taking care of children. Today women are coming out of the house. She is handling responsibilities both at home and outside. This has become possible only because of opportunity.

On this occasion, teachers of the university including Prof. Kusum Bhuria, Prof. Smita Banerjee, Prof. Nivedita Maitra, Prof. Archana Pandey, Prof. Chanda Ben, Prof. Vandana Soni, Dr. Rashmi Singh and a large number of students were present.

Hostel Day Celebrated..

Hostel Day of Girls Hostel was celebrated in the Golden Jubilee Auditorium of Dr. Harisingh Gaur University, Sagar. Anshika Tiwari presented a captivating Kathak in the programme. Jaya enthralled everyone by doing a western.

Mohini learned the tune of Murli, Monalisa learned Sambalpuri dance of Orissa and Anshika and Anushka presented songs. Soumya Shukla, Anumashree, Anjali Patel conducted the stage.
