The engine of a moving goods train loaded with coal caught fire near Semarkhedi station on the Bina-Kota railway track in Sagar. Within no time, high flames and clouds of smoke started rising.

As soon as the fire broke out, the loco pilot got off the train. As soon as information about this was received, railway officers, employees, police and administration team reached the spot. After hard work the fire was brought under control. Due to this, railway traffic was affected for some time.

Bina Tehsildar Sunil Sharma said that the fire was brought under control after about 35-40 minutes of hard work. The engine was completely burnt. To extinguish the engine fire, fire brigade vehicles of Bina Municipality including Bina Refinery were called to the spot. The reasons for the fire have not been revealed yet. Here, many trains have also been affected due to the fire incident.

It is being told that this goods train filled with coal was going from Bina towards Guna. As soon as the train crossed Semarkhedi railway station, the engine suddenly caught fire, about half a kilometer away from there. Seeing this, the loco pilot immediately stopped the train and got down. The engine continued burning for a long time.

PRO Naval Aggarwal of Bhopal Railway Division said that the information about fire in the engine of the goods train is correct. The cause of the fire will be investigated. At present, a major incident was averted because the goods train was full of coal, which was going to Kota division.
